Maple Frances Kinder, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born April 9, 1913, at Illmo, Mo., daughter of Benjamin Elder and Mary Alice Roark Wadley. She and Norman H. "Pete" Kinder were married July 17, 1937, at Benton, Mo.

Kinder had been an inspector at Eli Walker in Scott City, Mo. She was a member of Illmo Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Kelly Kinder of Oakville, Mo.; a daughter, Shirley Prade of Gordonville, Mo.; a brother, Emil Steck Wadley of St. Louis; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Hoffstetter will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
