SIKESTON -- Mancel H. McCoy, 74, of Walker, La., and formerly of Morley, died July 6, 1993, at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center.
He was born March 31, 1919, in Ripley, Miss., to the late Abner and Josephine Gates McCoy.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and was a retired maintenance worker for the Missouri Highway Department.
He married Hazel Winfield on Sept. 28, 1942, in Sikeston. She survives of the home.
Others survivors are one son, Harvel McCoy of Jackson; two daughters, Virginia Wheelis of Walker and Linda Cooke of Denham Springs, La.; one sister, Velma Brown of Citrus Heights, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Pentecostal Church in Morley with the Rev. Dennis Breeland and the Rev. Jimmy Kirby officiating.
Burial will be in the New Morley Cemetery.
