SIKESTON, Mo. -- Maggie Pullen, 86, of Chicago died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Ill.
She was born Nov. 14, 1914, in Lexington, Miss., daughter of Walter and Betty Sales Horton. She and Louis Pullen were married Dec. 26, 1935. He preceded her in death.
Pullen moved to Bell City, Mo., in 1938. She became a member of First Church of God In Christ. She worked with the youth department of the Church of God In Christ in the Southern Illinois Jurisdiction, and in 1957 was appointed as state Sunday School field representative.
She later moved to Carbondale, Ill., and became a member of Faith Temple Church of God In Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Clark of Kansas City, Eunice Summers of Chicago; two sons, Douglas Pullen of Springfield, Ill., Althornia Pullen of Chicago; a sister, Sarah Clark of Chicago; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Christ Sanctuary Church of God In Christ in Bell City. Elder Hugh Cawthon will officiate. Burial will be in J.C. Pullen Memorial Cemetery at Bell City.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from noon until service time.
