MAGGIE HARRIS

ALTO PASS, Ill. -- Funeral service for Maggie H. Harris of Alto Pass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass. The Rev. Gilbert Gee will officiate, with burial in Alto Pass Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Harris, 94, died Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at Life Care Center in Valparaiso, Ind.

She was born April 17, 1903, in Alto Pass, daughter of Charles E. and Ida Mae Obarts Leggans. She and Fred Harris were married March 1, 1922, in Jonesboro. He died March 27, 1967.

Harris was a member of the Congregational Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Southern of Valparaiso; two sons, Fred Harris of Rockford, Robert Harris of Alto Pass; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, eight brothers and sisters, and a grandson.
