MADGE JONES

CHAFFEE -- Funeral service for Madge Eva Jones of Chaffee will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Nancy Woods will officiate, with burial in Friend Cemetery at Oran.

Friends may call at the chapel after 4 p.m. today.

Jones, 81, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 10, 1915, at Chaffee, daughter of Charles Allen and Maude Mueller Howell Slinkard. She and Wilbur Lee Jones were married Aug. 22, 1936. He died Sept. 18, 1984.

Jones was retired from Sports Specialty Shoe Co. at Chaffee. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and Chaffee RSVP.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hester of Chaffee; a brother, William Slinkard of Marble Hill; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
