Mabel Bruce

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Mabel Louise Bruce, 92, of Advance passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at her home.

She was born Nov. 22, 1917, in Vanduser, Mo., daughter of Benjamin and Anne Bodenshott. She and Wilburn Bruce were married May 28, 1934. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1984.

Mabel was a retired retail merchant. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Advance, and was a member of Advance VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Coffee of Advance; a sister, Palma Simmons of East Moline, Ill.; and a granddaughter, Dawn Coffee of Advance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Brad Moore officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
