MABEL BALLENTINE

DEXTER, Mo. -- Mabel Marie York Ballentine, 80, of Dexter died Friday, July 27, 2001, at Crowley Ridge Care Center.

She was born Nov. 9, 1920, at Dexter, daughter of George and Clora Giles York. She attended the Church of God and was a former employee of the Green Thumb program as a caretaker.

She and Donald William Ballentine were married June 13, 1959, at Rochester, Mich. He died Nov. 8, 1976.

Survivors include one brother, Bill York of Dexter; three sisters, Louella Koslow and Sara Poole, both of St. Louis, and Georgia Graves of Dexter.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Metcalf officiating. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery near Dexter.
