OAK RIDGE, Mo. -- William Lyndell Newell, 62, of Oak Ridge died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1938, at Millersville, Mo., son of Edward and Delcie Hanners Newell. He and Lorene E. Triller Brown were married June 2, 1967.
Newell was an over-the-road truck driver more than 30 years with Coca-Cola Bottling Co., J.B. Hunt, and Havco Wood Products, retiring in 1997.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Bill L. Newell of Oak Ridge, Ken Brown of Jackson, Mo., Jeff Brown of Pocahontas, Ark., Kerry and Kevin Brown of Oak Ridge; five daughters, Kristie Newell and Karla Huffman of Jackson, Kathy Wills of Farmington, Mo., Karen Green of Cape Girardeau, Kaye Weston of Sedgewickville, Mo.; a brother, Dan Newell of Marble Hill, Mo.; two sisters, Ruth Maddock of Marble Hill, Joyce Kirn of Jackson; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
