DONGOLA, Ill. -- Lyman C. Rife, 84, of Dongola, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1993, at the VA Medical Center in Marion.
He was born March 26, 1908, in Pulaski, son of George W. and Lily Mae Kiefer Rife. He and Lorene Keller were married Oct. 25, 1938.
Rife was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Lee Rife of Rochester; twin sister, Elizabeth Brown of Ullin; a brother, William Rife of Ullin, and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Chapel here, with the Revs. Kenneth Mixen and Jesse Bellamy officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3455.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today, and Saturday until service time.
