ADVANCE -- Luther Harmon Winkler, 79, of Advance died Sunday, Sept. 14, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Marble Hill, the son of Henry Allen and Lucille Turner Winkler. On July 18, 1990, he married Mary Boyer.
He fixed sewing machines at a dress factory.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater during World War II and in the Korean conflict.
He belonged to the Elkton Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, and a sister, Thelma Lee Worley of Poplar Bluff.
A sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dean Trivitt officiating. Burial will be in the Old Salem Cemetery.
