EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Luther P. Ogborn, 87, of East Cape Girar-deau died at 10:25 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at his home.
He was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Wickliffe, Ky., son of Lon and Beulah Parks Ogborn. He married Lucille Garrett Feb. 10, 1948.
Mr. Ogborn was a retired welder. He was a member of Lake Milligan Baptist Church, Local 184 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in Paducah, Ky., and Operating Engineers. He was a 32nd Degree Mason for 50 years and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Ogborn of East Cape; a daughter, Bobbie Roberts of East Cape; two grandsons, Sean T. Aaron and Todd C. Aaron, both of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Beulah DeLashmutt of Olive Branch, Ill.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lon Ogborn and Arnold Ogborn.
Funeral service for Luther P. Ogborn will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., with the Rev. Verlee Eaker and the Rev. Kenneth Wilson officiating. Masonic service will be conducted by Caledonia #47 AF&AM. Interment will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday.
