CAIRO, Ill. -- Lula Regina Jones, 75, of Alton died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City.
She was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Cairo, daughter of Frank and Nola Irish Johnson. She first married Leon Brown. She later married Sedric Jones in 1973. He died in 1996.
Jones was a graduate of Vashon High School in St. Louis.
She retired as a social worker with Missouri Division of Social Services.
Survivors include a son, Keith Brown of Alton; a daughter, Karen Nelson of Alton; a brother, Frank Johnson Jr. of Chicago; a sister, Selena Bell of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo. The Rev. Darryl Cox will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from noon until service time.
Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
