CAIRO, Ill., -- Ludean Holmes Dodson, 69, of Cairo, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Olive Branch, daughter of George and Lena Conel Holmes.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Thebes. She was retired from the former St. Mary's Hospital in Cairo.

She is survived by two sisters, Leta Fay Phillips of Louisville, Ky., and Lola Upshaw of Cairo.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo, with the Rev. Carl D. Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery at Mounds.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
