Herring, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 1995, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews. She was formerly of Sikeston.

She was born Dec. 12, 1905, in Scott County, daughter of Elmer and Daisy Mae Beers Nickens. She and Lucian Herring were married Nov. 17, 1946. He died March 13, 1971.

Survivors include two sisters, Lou Wood of Dallas, Texas, Louise LaVigne of Sikeston, and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.
