Gray, 94, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 15, 1902, at Zalma, daughter of Frank and Anna Slimmer Fowler. She and Melvin Gray were married Feb. 25, 1921. He preceded her in death.

Gray was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Jay Gray of Cool, Calif.; four sisters; a brother; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
