SIKESTON -- Lucresia Cowley, 74, of Sikeston, died Monday, March 23, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born July 11, 1917, in Union County, Miss., daughter of James and Dollie Smith Visor. She married Clarence Cowley July 14, 1933, in Union County.
Cowley moved here six years ago from Hayti, and was a member of St. John's Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, James Cowley of Tacoma, Wash., Bobby and Jackie Cowley of Sikeston, Clarence Cowley of Hayti, Denny Cowley of Chicago; four daughters, Annie Harris of Dolton, Ill., Welthea Smith of Calumet, Ill., Azzie Lopez of Tacoma, Virginia Wilson of Chicago; a sister, Wilma Joiner of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 36 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters and three brothers.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Flem Bronner will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday.
