CAIRO, Ill. -- Lucille Thompson, 81, of Cairo died Friday, April 20, 2001, at Daystar Care Center. She was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Cairo, daughter of Joseph and Clora Lawrence Gregory. CAIRO, Ill. -- Lucille Thompson, 81, of Cairo died Friday, April 20, 2001, at Daystar Care Center.

She was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Cairo, daughter of Joseph and Clora Lawrence Gregory. She married Carl W. Thompson, who died in 1970.

Thompson was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Auxiliaries.

Survivors include three daughters, Carla Lenard, Denise Doughty and Maria Thompson, all of Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Ronald Thompson of Los Angeles; a sister, Dorothy Farmer of Palm Bay, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and a sister.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, Ill.
