Lucille T. Sams, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Chateau Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Bollinger County to Charles and Beulah Drum Thomason. She and Clyde Sams were married on Jan. 21, 1950, in Paragould, Arkansas.
She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church.
Lucille worked at the shoe factory for 50 years.
Survivors include her brother, Carl Thomason; sister, Janice Boeller; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews; and her best friend, Peanut.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Sams; son, Gary Lee Sams; brother, Loyd Thomason; and two sisters, Helen Seabaugh and Marguerite Long.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Coffee officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Lynwood Baptist Church.
