Lucille Reed, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 10, 1921, in Buchanan County, Mo., daughter of James and Grace Yokum Brown. She and Charles L. Reed were married Dec. 24, 1942, at Manhattan, Kan. He died in April 1984.
Reed worked as a nurse at St. Francis Medical Center and Wilson Nursing Home and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Don Reed of Owego, N.Y., and Charles Reed of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Nellie Emmons of Cape Girardeau, Sharon Mele of San Diego, Calif., and Kathy Jones of Omaha, Neb.; three brothers, Clifton and Robert Brown of De Kalb, Mo., and J.C. Brown of Omaha; a sister, Rosalee Allison of St. Joseph, Mo.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
