Lucille Frederick, 98, of Jackson passed away Monday, April 27, 2015, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 31, 1916, in Scopus, Missouri, to Scott S. "Sike" and Rilla E. Bollinger Dockins. She and Albert E. Frederick were married Dec. 23, 1943, in St. Louis. They had been married 19 years when he passed away Aug. 12, 1963.
Lucille lived in St. Louis many years and had worked at Owens Mill Manufacturing. She moved back to Jackson in 2000. Lucille was very patriotic. In remembrance of her son and grandsons who served in the military, she volunteered at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau and was also a member of VFW Auxiliary 10495. She also had a love for ballroom dancing.
Loving survivors include seven grandchildren, Gary (Marty) Brummel of Hillsboro, Missouri, Allen Brummel of House Springs, Missouri, Donna (Chris) Phoenix of Salem, Illinois, Jeanette Faulkner of Salem, Bobby Littrell of Omaha, Nebraska, Rob and Debbie Griffith and seven great-grandchildren, Josh, Jeremiah, Justin and Mariah Brummel, Amos Phoenix, Robert Brummel and Dixie Faulkner.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Juanita Ditzler, Elizabeth Brummel and Robert Lee Griffith, and a brother, Ora Lee Dockins.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery at Scopus.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Missouri Veterans Home.
