CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Lucille Presson Cox, 88, of Charleston died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at the Bertrand Retirement Facility. She was born June 4, 1914, in Mississippi County, daughter of Earl and Irene Jackson Presson. She and Manford Henry Cox were married May 31, 1936. He died Jan. 6, 1990...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Lucille Presson Cox, 88, of Charleston died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at the Bertrand Retirement Facility.

She was born June 4, 1914, in Mississippi County, daughter of Earl and Irene Jackson Presson. She and Manford Henry Cox were married May 31, 1936. He died Jan. 6, 1990.

She lived in Mississippi County her entire life and was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she taught children's Sunday school for several years. She taught business classes at Charleston High School until her retirement and was a Girl Scout leader for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Black of Charleston and Sue Daugherty of Carmel, Ind.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
