PERRYVILLE -- Lucille C. Ray of Perryville died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was 82. She was born Feb. 21, 1915, in Perry County, the daughter of Henry and Emma Hoffman Mattingly. She married Andrew Ray on Jan. 11, 1957, in Perryville. He died Feb. 1, 1968...

PERRYVILLE -- Lucille C. Ray of Perryville died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was 82.

She was born Feb. 21, 1915, in Perry County, the daughter of Henry and Emma Hoffman Mattingly. She married Andrew Ray on Jan. 11, 1957, in Perryville. He died Feb. 1, 1968.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Western Catholic Union and Ladies of Charity. She worked as a cook for St.Vincent de Paul Parish Rectory before her retirement.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Rollet of Perryville; a sister, Ester Mattingly of Perryville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville, with a parish wake service at 7. Visitation will also be held from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Monday, with a rosary recited at 9 at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Gerard P. Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
