ADVANCE, Mo. -- Lucetta McCullough, 90, of Advance was born May 3, 1921, in Stoddard County, Mo., the daughter of Rufus and Clara Carter Nolen and passed away Dec. 2, 2011, at the Advance Nursing Center.
Lucetta was the first Advance city collector. She retired from that job after 19 years. She had been an Advance alderwoman. She believed in the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Advance Ladies VFW. She had volunteered at the Advance Nursing Center as the bingo caller. She helped begin the Advance Senior Citizens. She helped with many other projects for the betterment of Advance.
Lucetta and Lyndell McCullough were united in marriage Nov. 19, 1933, in Advance, and he preceded her in death Nov. 20, 1967.
Survivors include two sons, Gary McCullough and Wayne McCullough, both of Advance; three daughters, Carole Yount of Arnold, Mo., Barbara Zieba of Perryville, Mo., and Debby Hess of Advance; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-stepgrandchild; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee; a brother; and a sister.
Visitation will be held on from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Woodard will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenbrier Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lucetta McCullough Charitable Fund; funds will be used for Lucetta's favorite charities.
