STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- Louise P. Monia, 101, of Ste. Genevieve died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Ste. Genevieve Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 22, 1899, in St. Louis, the daughter of Angela and Antonietta Gualdoni Colombo. She married August Monia Sr. on Sept. 10, 1918. He died Dec. 21, 1969.
She was owner of The Annette Shoppe from 1952 to 1970. She attended the Church of Ste. Genevieve and was a member of the Sodality of Mary, the hospital auxiliary and was a charter member and founder of the Ste. Genevieve Nutrition Center.
She is survived by two sons, Leon "Boots" Monia and Robert Monia, both of Ste. Genevieve; a brother, John Colombo of St. Louis; a sister, Theresa Page of Jonesboro, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, a son, four sisters, four brothers and a grandchild.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Friday at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Deken officiating.
Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve.
