Helen Louise Heisserer, 89 of Chaffee, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Adolph Henry and Clara Simpher Roloff. She married Andrew V. Heisserer on Jan. 15, 1949, at the St. Louis Cathedral in St. Louis. He preceded her in death Sept. 1, 2001.
Louise worked at the Oran Hat Factory for several years. She retired from Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee. She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and St. Ann Sodality. She enjoyed gardening and camping at Trail's End with family and friends. Her avid love was time spent working in her flowers and houseplants.
Survivors include four sons, Vic (Carole) Heisserer of Benton, Mo., Gene Heisserer of Poplar Bluff, Kenny (JoAnn) Heisserer of Benton, Mo., Duane (Gail) Heisserer of Oran; seven grandchildren, Dana (Jeremy) Daniel, Andrea (Kyle) Koepp, Brittney (Nathan) Seyer, and Sarah, Katie, Ashley and Crysten Heisserer; four great-grandchildren, Allie, Andrew, Anniston Daniel and Beckam Koepp.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Leah Jean Heisserer, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Mo. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by Knights of Columbus prayers.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Church by the Rev. Randy Tochtrop. Burial will follow in Old Guardian Angel Cemetery in Oran.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Guardian Angel Endowment Fund in Louise's memory.
