MARQUAND, Mo. -- Louise Hanks, 76, of Marquand died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Fredericktown, Mo. She was born April 11, 1925, at Commerce, Mo., daughter of Rufus and Susie Leona Lumm Hampton. She and Jerry M. Hanks were married July 4, 1954. He died April 10, 1978...

MARQUAND, Mo. -- Louise Hanks, 76, of Marquand died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Fredericktown, Mo.

She was born April 11, 1925, at Commerce, Mo., daughter of Rufus and Susie Leona Lumm Hampton. She and Jerry M. Hanks were married July 4, 1954. He died April 10, 1978.

Hanks was a former alderman with city of Marquand. She was a member of Mt. View Nondenominational Church near Marquand, and had coached the Babe Ruth baseball team.

Survivors include a son, Craig Hanks of Marquand; two daughters, Denise Johnson of Marquand, Cheryl Baker of St. Charles, Mo.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a half brother, and a half sister.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo., from 4-9 p.m. today.

Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Gene Proffer will officiate. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery near Commerce.
