Louise Crump, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 13, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 28, 1923, at Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of Alan Clinton and Ethel Roxanne Franks Rogers. She and William Elvis Crump were married May 20, 1947, in Osceola, Ark. He died July 19, 1971...

Louise Crump, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 13, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 28, 1923, at Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of Alan Clinton and Ethel Roxanne Franks Rogers. She and William Elvis Crump were married May 20, 1947, in Osceola, Ark. He died July 19, 1971.

Louise had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1940. She graduated from Cape Beauty School in 1942 and was a beautician until 1945. She was a telephone operator and clerk 36 years for Southwestern Bell Telephone, retiring in 1981. She received many awards for service and attendance.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and a Sunday School teacher, member of Telephone Pioneers of America and PTA.

Survivors include a son, Rick Crump of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Marsha Huckstep of Scott City, Mo.; three sisters, Joyce Blechle of Fruitland, Mo., Judy George of Cape Girardeau, Mildred Rigger of Festus, Mo.; six grandchildren, Laura Kester, Dustin, Kelli and Derick Huckstep, Sarah Crump and Amy Strange; a great-grandchild, Taylor Breanna Strange; three stepgrandchildren, Dan Huckstep, Dennis and Shelly Huckstep, Doug Huckstep; six great-stepgrandchildren, Lindsey, Brett, Sara, Brandon, Heather and Madison Huckstep.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Glenn and Wayne May, Buck Jerold Rogers; and a sister, Bernice Rogers.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ted Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ.
