SIKESTON -- Graveside service for Mary Louise Croom of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, Ark. The Rev. Than Pyron will officiate.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sikeston.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Croom, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born June 27, 1907, in Dardanelle, daughter of James Jackson and Linnie Bayliss Hawkins Walker. She and John David Croom were married Nov. 23, 1929, in Dardanelle. He died Oct. 9, 1985.
Croom was a volunteer and worked with the candy stripers at Missouri Delta Medical Center several years, and was a 4-H leader in Canalou 30 years. She was a charter member of St. Paul's Church, and former member of Canalou Extension Club.
Surviving are 14 nieces and nephews, including Sharon Lawson and Ginger Gilmer of Matthews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
