Louise Marie Scherer Burger, 85, of Scott City died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at her home.
She was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Ardeola, Mo., daughter of John A. and Bertha Enderle Scherer. She and Harold Burger were married June 18, 1946, at Benton, Mo. He died Oct. 6, 2000.
She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and its Ladies Sodality. She was a lifetime resident of the Benton and Commerce areas.
She is survived by three sons, Paul David Burger and wife Patsy of Benton, David F. Burger of Paducah, Ky., Robert R. Burger and wife Julie of Scott City; a daughter, Mary Louise Coomer and husband Kenneth of Delta; four brothers, Paul and Mark Scherer of Cape Girardeau, Vernon Scherer of Scott City, Robert Scherer of Venice, Fla.; and a sister, Drusilla Felter of Benton.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Carl, Tammy, Ryan, Victoria, Travis, Bryan, Nicholas, Jennifer Burger, Matt Patton, Crystal and Kevin Coomer, Jessica Trost and Amy Blue; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lionel Joseph Burger; and two brothers, Raymond and Harold Scherer.
Friends may call at St. Denis Catholic Church today from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish prayers will be at 6:30.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery.
