VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Louie D. Johnson, 55, of Villa Ridge died Monday, June 30, 1997, at his home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1941, in Villa Ridge, son of Sam and Della Turner Johnson.
He had worked as a boilermaker before his retirement, was a member of Boilermakers Union Local 637 in Minneapolis, the Arabian Horse Association and attended the First Baptist Church in Mound City.
He had served as a member of the Illinois National Guard.
He is survived by his parents; four sons, Tracy Bohde of Cairo, Dale Bohde of Paducah, Ky., and Donnie and David Christenson, both of Minneapolis; his fiancee, Judy Murphy of Mound City; a sister, Karen Carney of Benton; four brothers, Sam Johnson of Mound City, Paul Johnson of Olmstead, Les Johnson of Energy and Gene Johnson of Herrin; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Dr. Larry Potts and the Rev. Anthony Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
