SIKESTON -- Lou Ella Tucker, 78, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born July 3, 1918, in Wheatley, Ark., daughter of Kellar and Alice Appleberry Harris. She and John Lee Tucker were married Aug. 23, 1936. He died May 28, 1975.
Tucker retired from Missouri Delta Medical Center, where she worked 20 years. She was a member of West End Baptist Church, had served as clerk, and sang in the choir. She was a past worthy matron of Ruby Hughes Chapter 117 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include five sons, Daniel Tucker of Chicago, John Tucker of Orchard Lake, Mich., Samuel Tucker of St. Louis, George Tucker of Arlington, Texas, Jeremiah Tucker of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Mae Tucker of Chicago, Phyllis Jackson of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, Alonzo Harris of Sikeston, Johnnie Harris of Chicago; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and son.
Friends may call at Cornerstone Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at West End Baptist Church, with Pastor Ronald Williams officiating. Burial will be in Smith West End Cemetery.
