ADVANCE -- Lorene Kennedy Tidwell, 71, of Advance died Saturday, May 4, 1996, at her home.
She was born Oct. 4, 1924, in Hawn, the daughter of Lillian Morlan Myers of Advance and the late Arthur Myers. She married Alfred Kennedy in 1943, and he died in 1965. She then married Virgil Tidwell in 1974, and he died in 1984.
Tidwell attended the First Baptist Church of Advance. She worked for more than 10 years as a cook for Advance Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her mother; six sons, Gary, Larry, Eddie, James, Darrell and David Kennedy, all of Advance; five daughters, Shirley Watkins of Zalma, Nancy Sims of Union and Linda "Kay" Kennedy, Mary Ann Stevens and Carol Statler, all of Advance; a brother, Carl Myers of Peveley; a sister, Juanita Walker of Advance; 26 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Price officiating and the Rev. Tony Badami assisting. Burial will follow in Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy.
