LORENE POWLES

ANNA, Ill. -- Lorene Powles, 84, of Anna died Wednesday, July 27, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 17, 1910, at Mill Creek, the daughter of Henry J. and Nancy Hill Allen. On Dec. 29, 1926, she married Roy Powles, who preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1985.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Elco Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Fern Thompson, Louise Thompson, and Imogene Lynn, all of Mill Creek, and Deloris Wilson of Vienna; two sons, Howard Powles of Tamms and Franklin Powles of Verplank, N.Y.; two sisters, Pauline Woods of St. Peters, Mo., and Charlotte Woodside of Nashville, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Friday at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro, where funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Bill Joyce and the Rev. Raymond Williams will officiate, and burial will in St. John's Cemetery in Union County.
