Lorene Evelyn Mabrey, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Aug. 28, 1918, at Dutchtown, daughter of Louis H. and Emily Emma Geiser Schulenberg. She and William Mabrey were married Aug. 28, 1936, in Cape Girardeau. He died Sept. 11, 1966.
Mrs. Mabrey was raised in Dutchtown, moving to Cape Girardeau as a young girl. She worked a short time at Marquette Hotel. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Gary Mabrey of Murphysboro, Ill.; two daughters, Sharon Mabrey of San Diego, Calif., Emily Tuttle of Fruitland; five grandchildren, Jennifer Acosta of Thibodaux, La., Jeffrey Mabrey of Macomb, Ill., Tammy Schwab of Allen, Texas, Ann Tuttle of Estherville, Iowa, Bill Tuttle of Cape Girardeau; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time of service.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Heckman officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
