PIEDMONT, Mo. -- Lorene Johnson, 95, of Piedmont passed away Dec. 11, 2013, at the Clark's Mountain Nursing Home in Piedmont. She was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Leopold, Mo., the daughter of the late Pete and Myrtle Rogers Chapman. PIEDMONT, Mo. -- Lorene Johnson, 95, of Piedmont passed away Dec. 11, 2013, at the Clark's Mountain Nursing Home in Piedmont.

She was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Leopold, Mo., the daughter of the late Pete and Myrtle Rogers Chapman.

Helen is survived by two sons, Conway (wife, Alice) Goehman of Arcadia, Mo., and Lonnie (wife, Elaine) Goehman of Des Arc, Mo.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Goehman, Earl Holman and Ulys Johnson; one stepson, Milton Goehman; one stepdaughter, Delores Tanner; two half-brothers, Andrew and Raymond Chapman; and one sister, Marie Chapman.

In her early years, she grew up around Delta. She later lived in Jackson. Helen was a housewife who liked cooking. She was well known for dishes that included chicken and dressing, pecan pies and coffee cakes.

She worked as a school cook in Bismarck, Mo., for about four years and was a restaurant waitress in Sedalia, Mo., for several years. Her favorite hobby was oil painting. She painted scenic views and flowers.

She was of Baptist faith and was baptized in 1935 in Jackson. She belonged to the Madison County Baptist Church in Jackson, Tenn., for more than 40 years.

Visitation was held Monday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The funeral followed at the funeral home.

Burial was in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Jim Davis ministered to the family, and Ludene Chamless and Pastor Jim provided the music. Avery Goehman, Ryan Goehman, Zane Goehman, Brian Senn, Bronson Senn and Gary Senn served as pallbearers.
