Esther Lorene Guffey, 98, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 18, 1910, in Gibson, Mo., to Luther Barnes and Elizabeth Pritchard Barnes.
She and Fred Guffey were married Nov. 14, 1942.
She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Malden, Mo.

Survivors include a son, Ted Guffey of Jackson; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo., with the Rev. Aulden LeBlanc officiating.
