JONESBORO, Ill. -- Lorene Mayberry Benefield, 90, of Jonesboro passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 22, 1921, in Jonesboro, daughter of Loren and Esther Smith Mayberry Sr. She and Lester Benefield were married Feb. 6, 1940, in Jackson.
Lorene worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. 30 years. She was a longtime member of Valley Mission Pentecostal Church in Jonesboro.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelvy (Don) Hileman of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Suzanne (Dick) Baltzell of Newton, Ill.; two sons, Bob (Sandy) Benefield of McClure, Ill., Bruce Benefield of Jonesboro; a very special granddaughter, Tonya (Tony) Mikels; six grandsons, Steve Hileman, Bobby Benefield Jr., David (Heather) Benefield, Hank (Jamee) Baltzell, Travis (Janice) Baltzell and Matt (Amanda) Baltzell; granddaughters, Tori (Brad) Goines and Beverly (Brian) Miller.
Also 18 great-grandchildren, Chad, Heather and Morgan Hileman, Brandi Eads, Stephanie Benefield, Josh Cheek, Amanda Cheek, Zane Benefield, Emily, Hayden, Dakota, Dalton, Dominic, Evan and Jackson Baltzell, Mikayla Mikels, Cameron Mikels and Jared Held; three great-great-granddaughters; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three children, Darrell, Ronnie and Bonnie; and three grandsons, Kerry Hileman, Anthony Benefield and Brian Benefield.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time Monday at Valley Mission Church.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Billy Freeman officiating. Interment will be in Valley Mission Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Mission Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the church and at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
