DUDLEY, Mo. -- Lonnie D. Mitchell, 68, of Dudley died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was born May 31, 1932, at Dudley, son of James Glen and Ally Fields Mitchell.

Mitchell was a former heavy equipment operator.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include two sons, Steve and Shawn Mitchell of St. Louis; a daughter, Sherry Mitchell of St. Louis; two brothers, D.C. Mitchell of St. Louis, Ron Mitchell of Dudley; a sister, Carol Dennis of Dexter, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Puxico, Mo. Elder Jearl Clark will officiate.

Rainey Funeral Home at Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
