ADVANCE -- Lonnie Edgil, 76, of Advance died Monday, April 27, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born May 2, 1921, in Carbin Hill, Ala., son of Bud and Alice Morrsey Edgil. He and Gladys Welker were married in 1983. She died in September 1993...

ADVANCE -- Lonnie Edgil, 76, of Advance died Monday, April 27, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 2, 1921, in Carbin Hill, Ala., son of Bud and Alice Morrsey Edgil. He and Gladys Welker were married in 1983. She died in September 1993.

Edgil was a retired factory worker. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include two stepsons, Lonnie and Kenneth Welker of Arnold; two sisters, Willie Edgil of Cadiz, Ky., and Irene Robinson of Jasper, Ala.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with John Tolbert officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park at Marble Hill.
