SIKESTON -- Lois Marie Johnson, 75, of Sikeston, died Friday, May 28, 1993, at her home.
She was born Dec. 26, 1917, in Stoddard County, daughter of John Preston and Myrtle Harlan Edwards. She and Lt. Col. George T. Johnson were married March 29, 1946. He died Dec. 13, 1979.
Johnson had been a secretary for Paul Slinkard Tax Services nd Bailey and Bailey Real Estate. She was a member of First Christian Church and had served as an elder, deacon and deaconess.
Survivors include a son, Terry Johnson of Ft. Smith, Ark.; two daughters, Leslie Kelsay of Santa Clara, Calif., Rise Howard of Sikeston; a brother, Russell Somers of Rosenberg, Texas; four sisters, Eunice Garner of Bloomfield, Violet Jones of Springfield, Louese Murphy of San Antonio, Texas, Beulah Lape of Marble Hill, and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11 at First Christian Church, with the Rev. Gene Ackman officiating.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
