SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lois Krauss, 87, of Sikeston died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born March 12, 1916, in East Prairie, Mo., daughter of the Rev. A.E. and Maude Owen Ray. She and Charles W. Krauss were married Jan. 11, 1933, in East Prairie. He died Oct. 5, 1998...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lois Krauss, 87, of Sikeston died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born March 12, 1916, in East Prairie, Mo., daughter of the Rev. A.E. and Maude Owen Ray. She and Charles W. Krauss were married Jan. 11, 1933, in East Prairie. He died Oct. 5, 1998.

Krauss was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church, and played piano at services in a number of churches throughout her life. She had also been a Sunday school teacher at Miner Baptist and Temple Baptist churches.

Survivors include a son, Orville Krauss of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Janet Spitler and Karen McKinnie of Sikeston; a brother, the Rev. Lawrence Ray of Newport, Tenn.; a sister, Bertha King of Albuquerque, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Revs. Dolan Rogers and Delbert Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
