MARBLE HILL -- Lois I. Shrum, 57, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born July 25, 1942 at Lutesville, daughter of Dillard O. and Cora I. Abernathy Rhodes. She and Robert "Bobby" Shrum were married on Dec. 28, 1968...

MARBLE HILL -- Lois I. Shrum, 57, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born July 25, 1942 at Lutesville, daughter of Dillard O. and Cora I. Abernathy Rhodes.

She and Robert "Bobby" Shrum were married on Dec. 28, 1968.

She was a junior high English teacher at Woodland R-IV School District. She was a member, secretary, piano-organist and Sunday school teacher for New Bethel Congregational Methodist Church and president of the local and district Congregational Methodist Women Missionary Society. She was an alumnus of Wesley College and Southeast Missouri State University. She was also a member of MSTA, CTA and the Marble Hill Junior Women's Club.

Survivors include her husband; her mother of Marble Hill; three brothers, Obed Rhodes of Marble Hill; Noah Rhodes of Farmington and the Rev. Daniel Rhodes of Nacogdoches, Texas; and a sister, Eunice Bruce of Florence, Miss.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the New Bethel Congregational Methodist Church, with the Rev. Donald Sander and the Rev. Jeff Lohrstorfer officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
