Lois Hunter, 91, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Dec. 18, 1995, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Jan. 15, 1904, in Mandan, N.D., daughter of Robert L. and Mathilda Swanson Larson. She and Isaac McMullin Hunter were married Nov. 25, 1926, in Chicago. He died May 12, 1961.
Hunter received a degree in nursing and a bachelor of arts degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. As a student nurse she worked at Hull House, an early settlement house in the Chicago slums.
She had been a night supervisor at Southeast Missouri Hospital, worked in the offices of Drs. D.B. Elrod and Joseph Tygett, and was a nurse at May Green School five years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Stiegemeyer of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Robert Larson of state of California; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from noon to service time Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
