SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lois W. Hedrick, 85, of Leawood, Kan., formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, in Overland Park, Kan.
She was born June 5, 1918, at her home in Ocean, Md., daughter of Thomas and Isabella Williams. She and Walter Hedrick were married Oct. 10, 1942.
Hedrick was a 1935 graduate of Allegany High School in Cumberland, Md. She received a bachelor of science degree in education from Frostburg Teachers College in Maryland in 1939, and a master's degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1968.
She taught at Lee Hunter Elementary School in Sikeston 16 years, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Suzanne Hedrick of Overland Park, Janet Hunter of Fairfax, Mo.; a son, Thomas Hedrick of Sikeston; and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William "Bill" Koch officiating.
