SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lois Ellen Dixon, 49, of Sikeston died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at her home.
She was born June 3, 1951, in Sikeston, daughter of the late Betty Lee "Sophia" Simmons and Johnny Gustavia Warfield. She married Ed Dixon in December 1991.
Dixon was a 1969 graduate of Sikeston High School, and received a certificate in general clerical courses from the Missouri Board of Education Adult Center. She was a member of Powerhouse of God Church.
Survivors include a son, Byron Simmons of Sikeston; a daughter, Kawajalyn Simmons of Jefferson City, Mo.; four brothers, Robert Simmons and Fred Smith Jr., of Aberdeen, Miss., Charles Simmons of Sikeston, Michael Simmons of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Marietta Warfield and Shelia Simmons of Sikeston, Carolyn Brown of Seattle, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Powerhouse of God Church, with the Rev. Betty Ware officiating. Burial will be in Warfield Cemetery at Oran, Mo.
Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
