ANNA, Ill. -- Lois Blessing, 79, of Anna died Monday, June 30, 2008, at City Care Center. She was born May 8, 1929, in Anna, daughter of Philip and Lona Russell Caraker. She and James B. Blessing were married Dec. 6, 1947. Blessing was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Ill. She had worked as church secretary at First Baptist Church in Dupo, Ill...

ANNA, Ill. -- Lois Blessing, 79, of Anna died Monday, June 30, 2008, at City Care Center.

She was born May 8, 1929, in Anna, daughter of Philip and Lona Russell Caraker. She and James B. Blessing were married Dec. 6, 1947.

Blessing was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Ill. She had worked as church secretary at First Baptist Church in Dupo, Ill.

Survivors include her husband; a brother, Marvin Caraker of Cobden, Ill.; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and a brother.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Norman Gardner and Darrell Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda, Ill.
