WOODSTOCK, Ga. � Loida "Edie" Lafaye Springmeyer, 80, of Woodstock, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia.
She was born Nov. 7, 1938, in Cape Girardeau to the late Wesley and Grace Cotner. She married Harry Springmeyer, who passed away Nov. 10, 2015.
She began her career in art education and counted her many students among her dearest friends. She took her talents in a different direction as the creator of the Gingham Square, which she owned for many years. Following a move to Tennessee, she continued her career as an interior designer and real estate agent. In 2014, she and Harry retired to Woodstock.
Loving survivors include daughters, Brandi Springmeyer (Colin) Greene of Woodstock and Courtney Paige Riggsbee (Larry Preece) of Hendersonville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Dalton Riggsbee, Harrison Greene and Avery Greene; sister, Roberta Ulrich of Jackson; nephews, Gary Ulrich and Steven Ulrich; niece, Sherry Ulrich Punches; and many cousins and friends.
