GRAY RIDGE, Mo. -- Loetta Chafin, 65, of Gray Ridge, Mo., died at her residence on Sunday, March 25, 2001. Chafin was born on Oct. 26, 1935, in Gray Ridge, the daughter of Adron and Maggie Jewell McConnaughhay Pennington. She was the owner-operator of Chafin's Cafe in Gray Ridge until ill health forced her retirement. She was a member of the Gray Ridge Baptist Church. She married George Chafin of Holly Springs, Miss., on Dec. 31, 1953...

GRAY RIDGE, Mo. -- Loetta Chafin, 65, of Gray Ridge, Mo., died at her residence on Sunday, March 25, 2001.

Chafin was born on Oct. 26, 1935, in Gray Ridge, the daughter of Adron and Maggie Jewell McConnaughhay Pennington.

She was the owner-operator of Chafin's Cafe in Gray Ridge until ill health forced her retirement. She was a member of the Gray Ridge Baptist Church. She married George Chafin of Holly Springs, Miss., on Dec. 31, 1953.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Mike Chafin of Wichita, Kan., and Jimmy Chafin of Gray Ridge; a daughter, Cindi Park of Gray Ridge; and a brother, Raymond Pennington of Chesapeake, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., today at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday in the Watkins & Sons Chapel, with the Revs. Doyle Corlew and H. Worth officiating. Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
