MARBLE HILL -- Lloyd Dale Underwood, 79, of Greenville died Friday, May 21, 1999, at the Greenville Health Care Center.
He was born at Bessville on Sept. 4, 1919, son of the late Zach and Nellie Jane McLeod Underwood. On June 29, 1974, he married Nell Morton. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Jerry Watkins of Horn Lake, Miss., Bobby Watkins of Beaumont, Texas, and David Watkins of Hiram; three daughters, Kathy Jones of Hiram, Nelda Broshuis of Marble Hill and Barbara Hixson of Greenville; a brother, Basil Underwood of East Alton, Ill.; a sister, Wilma Hutson of Grassy; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
He had worked as a mechanic for the Lutesville Motor Co. in Marble Hill.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Old Trace Creek Baptist Church near Glen Allen.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Sander officiating.
Military rites conducted by VFW Post 5900 and interment will follow at the Old Trace Cemetery.
