COBDEN, Ill. -- Lloyd Sims, 90, of Cobden died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill. He was born March 19, 1910, in Villa Ridge, Ill., son of Francis and Mary Sims. He and Alma I. Smith were married Dec. 23, 1933, in Benton, Mo. She died May 8, 1993...

COBDEN, Ill. -- Lloyd Sims, 90, of Cobden died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

He was born March 19, 1910, in Villa Ridge, Ill., son of Francis and Mary Sims. He and Alma I. Smith were married Dec. 23, 1933, in Benton, Mo. She died May 8, 1993.

Survivors include a son, Sonny Sims of Cobden; four daughters, Betty Swink of Dongola, Ill., Shelby Phelps and Delores Greenway of Vienna, Ill., Linda Michaels of Cobden; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden from 6-8 p.m. today, and Friday until service time.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kim Capel officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
